It seems that during the turn of the century humans have taken the natural light produced by the sun for granted. Think about it everyday we wake up it’s there, sometimes we enjoy it’s warmth, other times we would rather see the moon. The sun is the most powerful energy source in the known universe, it transfers a great amount of energy in the form of natural light. With the advancements in technology we have learned to harness the power of the sun and turn it into usable energy that can power the objects that we use on an everyday basis. One of those products is Solar Security Lights.

Solar Security Light don’t need any electricity to operate They are powered by a solar panel that collects the light from the sun and collects it for usable energy when the sun goes down. Solar Security Lights have been designed so that you can use them everyday of the year. Electrical security lights require somewhere to plug them in and have too many wires, so placing them where you want can be a task of it’s own. You would not need to worry about that issue with solar security lights. You can place them anywhere you wish, and operate them without adding to your already high energy bills.

Solar Security Lights are made of three separate parts that help complete each unit. The Solar Panel, the light unit, and the PIR Sensor. Each plays an important role that helps each light operate correctly. The solar panel is where it all begins. During the day as the sun shines that panel is what collects all of the energy it will be using for later. There is more detail that goes into explaining the process, but that would be a much longer article, so we will try to stick to the basics to give you an easy understanding of the Solar Security Light units.

The light unit of solar security lights is made of up three parts, the light unit, battery pack, and PIR Sensors. The battery packs are typically located inside of the light unit. They are charged daily by the electricity that the solar panels help produce. Each charge is different, the stronger the sun is that day, the more charged the batteries will become. Since solar security lights often are need to illuminate large areas, most of them use LEDS. These kind of bulbs are the best when it comes to producing strong and bright lighting effects that make solar security lights just that, a security light. They don’t drain the battery life, so you can typically expect at least 7 or more hours of illumination each night.

The PIR sensors are not on every security light on the market, so make sure they say they come with motion detection before you decide to follow through with the purchase. The PIR picks up on moving objects when they pass by. So if your pulling in your car, or a person walks by the light, it will be triggered to illuminate the security light. Not only would this keep away intruders, but it’s great for if your taking out or garbage during the night or pulling your car into the garage. With energy prices on the rise we need to cut back in products that contribute to our energy bills.
